Királyszentistván, Veszprém County, Hungary

Massive/Crystalline
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.1 × 3 × 2.8 cm
Description

New find from the summer of 2020 - sculptural and aesthetic dendritic or coral shaped formation of Romanéchite (analytically confirmed), an uncommon barium bearing manganese oxide mineral. The aesthetics are lifted by the brownish yellow balls of iron oxides (most probably Göethite). A fault created brecciated cavities in the Triassic dolomite host rock and other sediments (sand, clay) into which hydrothermal fluids brought this interesting mineralization. This is one of the most aesthetic formations this mineral species offers worldwide!
