Description

Excellent miniature of curved rhodochrosite crystals, with a couple partly coated by a dark stain, probably manganese oxides. The surface is rather curved and the color contrast with the bed made of minute white fairfieldite crystals is striking. Locally, also traces of pink/purple fluorapatite add to the chromatic palette, however this specie is not crystallographically relevant on the specimen.

Very rich, it represents a very curious paragenesis. From the collection Eiker, mining geologist at Foote.
