Description

Rare miniature of columnar quartz with amethyst double terminated tip from the classic locality of Crapteig in the Grisons.
The quartz is rather lustrous, with good transparency, especially on the tips of the amethyst. Between the crystals, numerous traces of iron oxides.

The specimen comes from the remarkable B. Flurin collection (CH), which dates back to the 50s-70s. The collector was famous for several things - among them, the wooden custom made bases (such as this one, which is detachable too) and the fact that he never cleaned not treated the specimens, thus leaving the geological signature intact.
