Description

A 'chain' of flattened, very lustrous prehnite crystals populates the ridge of this metamorphic matrix specimen. At the end of the chain, a fully formed, standing prehnite crystal, with the typical for the locality habitus. Very intense green color and lustre for all crystals, they come associated to millimetricl green-yellow epidote crystals of great clarity (10x magnification advised for the latter).

Overall, the specimen is contrastful, as the matrix is overall pale. Crystals come with some peripheral contacts.

A representative Alpine classic from a locality that has provided some among the world's best prehnites.

From the former renowned collections S.F.C. Adrian (UK) and R. Barstow (UK).
