Description

A nice miniature featuring a sharp, complex, orange sphalerite crystal perched in a white sugary marble vug. The crystal shows a modified tetrahedron habitus, I think with the rhombohedron faces. The crystal has medium lustre and there appears to be a tiny contact on top of the crystal. Throughout the specimen there are a couple of very shiny golden pyrite crystal (too small to be depicted with my current setup).

Striking color contrast, it is representative for this classic Italian Alpine locality, which is the Italian, poorer analogue of Lengenbach. Not many of those are spotted on the market today.

Former collection Kasper (CH), dated back to the 60s.
