Description

A dozen unusual 3D psilomelane 'ferns' grown in a calcite vein from this rather obscure Mn mine in Northern Italy. When the vein opens, it displays lustrous white calcite scalenohedrons with non-sharp, yet transparent, tips - in this stance, twice.
Note: this is not the usual bidimensional dendrite given by oxide precipitation, but a primary formation instead.

Besides showing a striking color contrast, specimens like this can host rare silvery rancieite blades in the calcite vugs. It could be the case upon careful trimming.

In my collection since a few years.
