Description

Rich specimen of green adamite (copper rich variety) on the typical gossan matrix. The crystals lay on brown crystalline smithsonite, which displays the typical rice grain shape while coating the gossan. Adamite forms spheroidal aggregates, which are locally wide open and display a very elegant fan shape, hence highlighting an esthetic color (and compositional) range. On the back of the specimen, a nice geode of botryoidal smithsonite with very good lustre.
Good lustre and great green color for the adamite.

In good conditions given the age, dated back to the early 90s. Found in an old Greek stock a few years ago, these specimens are very scarce nowadays.
