Description

Rich dolomite vein lined with several tuffs and two sprays of hrey-green millerite. The sulphide displays moderate lustre and the greenish hue is possibly given by surface alteration into secondary phases (i.e. reevesite? not analysed). Excellent contrast on top of the cream yellow dolomite crystals, which display a very good lustre and textbook rhombohedral shape.

A true German classic, the definition of an oldtimer - nowadays scarcely spotted outside old collections.

The specimen comes from the former collection Lehmann (CH) and is date back to a few decades ago.
Weight includes the original plastic plinth and pasted handwritten label.
