Elegant miniature specimen featuring an open vug hosting a well formed realgar crystal. Mostly fresh, vivid red, with good lustre for the specie and excellent shape, the crystal beautifully constrasts with the marble matrix typical for the Swiss locality. The crystal has one minor bruise on one edge and on one corner it shows traces of minor orpiment.
On the side of the same vug, a textbook transparent dolomite crystal, very lustrous, which shows growth patterns as well.
Throughout the specimen, dozens of sulphides, mostly pyrite but I cannot exclude some rarity as well (not analysed).
Given the yellow color of the marble, this is clearly an old Binntal specimen. Dated back to the 70s, it comes from the former collection Bernardoni (I).
