Description

Lovely thumbnail featuring a well-formed scepter with great pink color. The tip is a gem that shows a glasuhr color distribution of a delicate pink, which is further evidenced by the introduction of a black background - hence the choice of different backgrounds during the photography process. As for the stem, this is given by a crude speck of white quartz, which was freed from excess iron oxides and revealed its true pattern. I have left a bit of iron oxides in place to preserve the geological signature of the specimen and its original environment.

The tip shows a tiny contact, which is a common feature on most specimens I have seen in person from this area. Nonetheless, it does not distract from its overall esthetic appeal.

Acquired on Christmas last year. I am told that this specimen has been recently found in Greece due to the opening of a new cleft.
