Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
3.6 × 2.7 × 2.7 cm
Description

From the famous Santa Fiora mines, a botroidal cinnabar specimen of good red color. Upon closer inspection, the group hosts some sand grains, which suggests that this is one of the latest mineralizations that occurred in the mining area. The bottom of the specimen is equally intriguing, as the same aggregate has a dark color, possibly metacinnabar.
Classic Italian locality. I have purchased this specimen from a Tuscan collector in the early 2000s.
