Description

Choice fan of bicolor kovdorskite from its type locality. The aggregate is a slightly divergin fan starting white and terminating with a good delicate blue color. Crystals are overall well formed and with a pretty good lustre for the specie. The fan lies on top of pale yellowish creamy dolomite, whose yellow taint could be given by collinsite micro inclusions (although not confirmed). On the matrix, some coarse crystals of crude jet black magnetite, partially covered with a thick iron stain.
Excellent color contrast, one of the best kovdorskite specimens I have ever had.
