Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Khaidarkan, Fergana Valley, Osh Oblast, Kyrgyzstan
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
5.7 × 3.3 × 3.6 cm
Description

Very rich vein specimen of rare khairdakanite from the type locality. Myriads of acicular crystals with the natural bending go along a very thick vein, fully populating it with its beautiful sky blue color. The vein passes throughout the entire specimen, and it is over 1 cm thick for most of its extent. Locally, the vein opens creating vugs and geodes completely filled with this delicate hairy specie. On the harder part of the gossan, where no khairdakanite is spotted, a few pale green spheroids which I believe are either malachite or strashimirite.
Exceptionally rich specimen of this very rare specie, I was lucky enough to find it at the latest Denver show. Delicate, it will come carefully packed.
