Description

Exceptionally rich miniature featuring over two dozens of bicolor titanite crystals (brown and blue!) in this muscovite bearing schist. Titanite is incredibly lustrous and well shaped, with textbook razor crystals and beautifully contrasts with the surrounding pale matrix. Best admired at 10x magnification.
The specimen was found during Summer 2017. I am told that these specimens are typically heavily covered in iron oxides and days long treatments are needed in order to uncover the titanite - if there. This is one of the richest I have ever seen from the locality. Blue titanite is usually quite rare.
