Rich specimen of jet black crystalline magnetite from the classic - although defunct - Brosso mine. A number of crystals lie in a vug of typical magnetite matrix, showing the growth patterns and interesting hoppered and hollow stuctures. Associated, there are small pale green hexagonal talc crystals which are best appreciated with 10x magnification.
These specimens typically occur associated to massive white calcite. This very specimen has been carefully etched from it.
A good specimen from this classic locality. Dated back to at least a decade ago.
