Description

Elegant aggregate of pale yellow calcite rhombs epimorphing a pre-existing mineral (possibly aragonite or celestite; not easibly discernible due to the richness of the coverage). Lustre is good for the specie, as calcite is very well developed. This is a very nice drusy which develops in a vug of sulphur-rich evaporite, a classic matrix for these specimens.
Not tested for fluorescence, although they are typically very strongly range from bright white to pink-orange.
Provided some very minor sporadic contacts, the specimen is in excellent conditions and it displays beautifully. I did acquire it a few years ago from an Austrian collector, whose German handwritten label is pasted on the back of the specimen (not depicted).
