Description

One of the oddest specimens of the current auction.
The specimen appears to be a trimmed/etched pebble of altered copper ore, featuring on its top a group of thick native copper crystals. The copper is very fresh and one crystal can be seen distinctly as pyramid shape, possibly a spinel law twin. On the back of the main specimen display there is a horizontal sign, quite sharp, which could either be the sign of a chisel or a blade - possibly from trimming.
What is quite intriguing is the locality. While Corocoro is very well know, the rewritten label of Burger mentiones as a sublocality Titicaca Lake - which I had never encountered before.
