Description

An incredibly rich matrix specimen of spear shaped colemanite from Boron. Crystals are well shaped, sharp, with transparent tips and very good lustre for the specie. They are aggregated as double-speared individuals and occupy an extensive open fissure across the entire length of the specimen, giving the overall rock a very esthetic touch. Provided a couple peripheral contacts, the specimen is very well preserved. I have not tested it for fluorescence, although specimens from this world famous deposit typically fluoresce in candid white.
My best Boron colemanite, the specimen has travelled quite a bit! I have obtained it in 2010 from a private collector in Freiberg (Germany), from whom I purchased a small lot of choice specimens. The colemanite comes with a label in English, although I could not recognise the original collector.
