Description

Flaky crystals of native bismuth in quartz and sulphide rich matrix. Bismuth shows a number of bronze flakes with metallic luster. Very rich for both the area and the specie, quite rare and sought after, especially because it has not been etched to expose possible herring bone crystals.

In very good conditions, it comes from the Burger collection (pre-1951, relabelled in modern times). Please note that the collector's label states (in German) that he was not sure whether this was really bismuth. Although it is very similar to a number of unetched bismuth specimens I have come across.
