Description

Textbook native copper pseudomorph after twinned aragonite crystals. Two individuals with hexagonal shape and the typical secondary green oxidations are perfectly perched in a sedimentary matrix. The specimens look like they are stable in the vugs, although I am not aware whether this is its original nest, nor whether they have been stabilised with a minimal amount of glue. Two cuts on the matrix for better display.
From the early 80s, acquired around Christmas 2017 from an Italian collection. These crystals are usually found as floaters without matrix, which makes this specimen quite unusual.
