Description

Black specimen of columbite group mineral from this rather obscure pegmatite locality in Massachussets.

Mostly lustrous, it does come with a second, smaller chip, also labelled (pasted). It is probably a portion of a major crystal, perhaps intergrown between major feldspars which did not come along with the present specimen. Minor iron stains throughout the specimen.
The complete occurrence name could well be the West Chesterfield Hollow pegmatite locality.

Unusual locality and fairly good for the specie!

Former collection Burger (Switzerland). Pre-1950s specimen, labeled in modern times.
