Aghbar Mine, Aghbar, Zagora Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco

Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)

4.3 × 3.8 × 2.8 cm
Description

A superb miniature richly covered in deep-red lustrous elongated wendwilsonite crystals that range up to .5 cm in length. Many of the crystals have a habit that can be described as pointy rice grains. Some tend to be more bladed, but all are beautiful to look at. Scattered amongst these deep red crystals are pinkish tan to orange blades of cobaltian talmessite, whilst the surrounding matrix of cobaltian dolomite has tuffed balls and caucti like branching groups of golden brown cobaltlotharmeyerite. A truly handsome specimen of three rare cobalt species.
