Description

Sphalerite is one of the primary ores at Broken Hill, however complete sphalerite crystals are most uncommon. This thumbnail is a complete sphalerite crystal partly embedded in galena from the North Mine.

The crystal is metallic black with stepped striations on the crystal faces.
