Description

A extremely rich specimen of plimerite from the type locality; the Block 14 Opencut at Broken Hill.

This specimen has several cavities richly invested with dark green spheres of plimerite on a contrasting yellow beudantite background.

Plimerite was named for Prof. Ian Plimer and formally approved in 2008 and was known as IMA 2008-013 and listed UK #1 in the Minerals of broken Hill
