Description

A superb sphalerite & galena specimen from the 19th century acquired from the Sorbonne , specimen # 2636, in an exchange in the early 1980's. No further location information is given. This is from the same pocket, if not the same specimen listed by Rock Currier on Mindat. http://www.mindat.org/photo-312551.html.

The black sphalerite crystals to 1.5 cm are sharp twinned and highly lusterous, the modified octahedral galena crystals are to 1.4 cm across with several smaller chalcopyrite crystals and stacked white calcite rhombs stacked up the side of the specimen at one end.
