Burra Burra Copper Mine, Burra, Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia, Australia
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)

Description

A section of brecciated sandstone has had the voids between the pieces of sandstone filled with libethenite, including at one end of the specimen where the libethenite has not filled the cavity. Dark green lusterous libethenite lines this cavity over blue green pseudomalachite. Subsequently the libethenite has been covered with pale blue botryoidal apatite.

A fascinating old time specimen.
