Description

A gemmy emerald crystal from the Torrington Mining District in northern New South Wales. The crystal has crude terminations at both ends and has most likely healed over fracturing due to tectonic movement. The crystal typical of emerald from this area has distinct colour bands, which when tested were found to have high levels of vanadium. This crystal is from a small find more than fifteen years ago
