Consols Mine, Broken Hill, Yancowinna County, New South Wales, Australia
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)

2 × 4.5 × 4.4 cm
Description

From the very early days at the ABH Consols mine is a mass of grey interlocking herring bone native silver crystals. This is the only specimen that I have seen like it. Whilst the structure of this specimen is quite visible to the eye, under low magnification the complexity and scare number of silver fronds is amazing.

At some point this specimen has either be mounted in a box or attempts have been made to stablise the specimen with what appears to be some sort of red wax  or glue, this can clearly be seen on the back of the specimen.
