Description

An exceptional angastonite specimen. Snow white crystals have grown in groups and freestanding singles on all surface of a section of black gossan. Crystals are sharp and bright

This mineral was named after the town of Angaston from where it originates. Whilst it was discovered in 1988 it was not approved as a new species until 2008. In the intervening period the quarry in the quarry where it was discovered has been completely mined through and is now fresh air for want of a better expression.
