Description

Wulfenite is probably the rarist and most sort after mineral from Rum Jungle, I have handled many hundreds of specimens from this great location and this is my first wulfenite, I have only seen three others.

This specimen comprises a matrix of botyroidal malachite covered with a rich coating of bright yellow pyromorhite onto which twinned cerussite crystals have formed. A further dusting of yellow pyromorphite is to be seen on most cerussite. Scattered amongst this cacophany of colour are several flat bladed yellow crystals of wulfenite.

Not a world class wulfenite by any stretch of the imagination, but a wulfenite fom Rum Jungle, which is a true rarity.
