Description

Large rosettes of muscovite completely cover a matrix of orthoclase and crystallised Schorl. This one of a kind find, was made 18 months ago, at the southern end of the Mica Creek pegmatite fields, in the Mt Isa-Cloncurry Mining District.

Very few of these specimens have been shown and after extensive searching in the area, no more material has come to light. Whilst not evident on this specimen, micro clear, white and pale green apatite crystals are to be seen on some of the specimens recovered.
