Umangite & Chalcomenite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Sierra de Umango, Villa Castelli, General Lamadrid Department, La Rioja, Argentina
Size Range:
Thumbnail (1-3cm)
Size:
1.8 × 0.8 × 0.6 cm
Description

I am told that if you have metallic purple (and you do, visible, here), you have umangite; and it’s a good bet there is klockmannite as well, and potentially all kinds of other good things. This specimen also contains Copper selenides because of the green secondaries. The non-metallic blue green on there is likely chalcomenite, in fact.
