Junction Mine, Block 14 opencut, Broken Hill, Yancowinna County, New South Wales, Australia

Thumbnail (1-3cm)

2 × 1.8 × 0.9 cm
Description

A group of very coarse native silver wires, beautifully curling at the ends, as with most Junction Mine silver specimens it has a silver black patina normally due to a fine venieer of stephanite.

Good wire silver specimens from Broken Hill have never been common and are very difficult to obtained in the last couple of decades. This is a great thumbnail for anyone wishing a native silver from this classic locality.
