Description

Xanthoconite is a rare sulfosalt, being silver arsenic sulfide. It is a dimorph or different crystal form of proustite. This is an old piece featuring sparkly, red clusters of xanthoconite microcrystals aesthetically scattered amidst blades of a wedge of two-toned barite from a famous old, German locality in the Erzgebirge - the Alte Hoffnung Gottes Mine in the Freiberg District.
