Volborthite is an uncommon hydrated copper vanadate secondary mineral found in the oxidized zones of vanadium-bearing hydrothermal deposits. It is very rare in specimens from this small uranium-vanadium mine that operated in the 1940s and 1950s. Gemmy, olive-green microcrystals in isolated and clustered bladed rosettes and yellow-green crystals are richly and attractively scattered on the front of the reddish cherty matrix wedge
