Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Christiana Mine, Kamariza, Agios Konstantinos, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8 × 7.7 × 3.7 cm
Description

Even if this was only azurite, it is hard to find a larger than miniature azurite with good coverage from Lavrion nowadays. But this is a fine, rare-combo piece. The matrix is interesting and is composed of formations of goethite/limonite together with cuprite. This used to be native copper. Glittering azure blue crystals of azurite cover most of the specimen and the green minerals on them include: malachite psm cuprite in very well defined crystals and also zincolivenite.
