Description

This is a remarkable Greek saphhire specimen. The main crystals is 1.5cm tall and double-colored both dark/dull-bluish and pinkish. It is a leaping out of the matrix which is unique as most of those are embedded inside the matrix. So overall, this is superb for the locality. It is repaired where the crack is. What I find very interesting on this specimen, apart from the two colors of the corundum is that the fact that near the crystal, there are two crystals of an unidentified/unknown green mineral! This is exciting as such a mineral is not known in the mineralogy of the area so it is a new thing.
