Description

Such azurite has only been found once in Lavrion, in 2017. The quality surpasses all previous finds by far and pieces from this find are the best Greek azurites to date. This is a fine, representative example with highly lustrous, gemmy, bladed crystals, associated with beautiful contrasting green malachite. There are damaged crystals on the specimen like on most from the find (as they were too fragile to get out intact). However, this is an exceptional Greek azurite. Only a small quantity of such specimens was found so those are very rare. This one comes from the collection of Konstantinos Papaspyropoulos.
