The hollow areas on this unusual and nice Lavrion smithsonite is the empty space left from dissolved crystals of gypsum. Actually, the gypsum was replaced by a crust of limonite and the smithsonite is on the limonite. A highly unusual and aesthetic Lavrion smithsonite.
