Locality:
Christiana Mine, Kamariza, Agios Konstantinos, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4.4 × 3.4 × 2 cm
Description

Azurite from Lavrion came in such crystals once! It was in 2017 and the find was small. This is a major example as it hosts the widest and  thickest crystal of the find measuring 2.5x2.0x0.6cm. The crystal in undamaged but its growth is interrupted. In overall dimensions/volume, I think this is the biggest single crystal of the find. As a bonus, the piece hosts a few sidecar crystals, one of which shows remarkable gemminess. A superb Greek azurite starting at a very reasonable price.

ex. Konstantinos Papaspyropoulos collection.
