Description

Hematites from Greece recently became rare as it turns out that all previously named "hematite" from Seriphos and other skarn zone enviroments from Greece turned out to be magnetite. This piece comes from the alpine type fissures of Evia and is a beautiful iron rose of hematite on contrasting white albite! It is the best specimen that I have seen from the locality and I had the luck of finding it myself during one of my trips there, back in 2011! Perhaps among the best on-matrix-hematites from Greece.
