Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Km-3 Mine, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
6.9 × 5.6 × 5.1 cm
Description

Greek annabergites are the best for the species in the world, period. This is an exceptional example with magnificent crystallization and superb quality. These are usually too small, with 1mm crystals on small 1-3cm specimens or large with very little coverage. This piece is very rich and really great, a fantastic example of the species from an old Lavrion collection as these stopped coming out from Greece 10 years ago and are now classics and highly collectible. I must note that there are drill marks on the matrix that can be removed but I decided to leave them there as proof of how delicate work the miners did back then to extract these rarities, leaving a piece of local mining history intact.
