Cuprian Adamite & Aragonite

Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Hilarion Mine, Hilarion, Kamariza, Agios Konstantinos, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8.3 × 6 × 2.6 cm
Description

A thin slice of matrix hosts gemmy blue-green crystals of cuprian adamite and a forest of gemmy aragonite crystals is growing vertically against the slice of the matrix, making for an aesthetic piece. As a bonus, there is an interesting pseudomorph on the piece but both minerals are unidentified. This find took place about 2 years ago but I bought nothing until this piece came to my attention from another dealer from Thessaloniki and I bought it for this bizarre pseudo that it hosts, combined with its beauty that is obvious.
