This is a very old and impressive smithsonite specimen from Lavrion. The thickness of the smithsonite layer is remarkable, more than 2cm! The smithsonite is completely translucent and has a fine blue-green color. The light comes through the smithsonite and the piece glows even with just a little bit of light. A piece that reminds us that Lavrion once produced some of the finest smithsonites in the world.
