Description Tabs

Description

Plaka Mines, Plaka, Lavrion District, Attiki Prefecture, Greece

Crystals on Matrix

Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)

3.9 × 3.5 × 1.7 cm
Description

This rare, uranium mineral has only been recently discovered in Lavrion in a specific spot and is a new mineral for the locality and in my opinion all Lavrion collectors should own one. This is an excellent example with wonderful crystallization as seen at the photos. The sklodowskite is partly included in the transparent gypsum and this creates a beautiful visual effect.
