Classic Locality

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Christiana Mine, Lavrion, Attiki Prefecture, Greece
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
4 × 3 × 2.4 cm
Description

This is a superb Lavrion azurite. The piece is complete all around with clusters of azurite rosettes. The color is excellent and the luster is good. For a piece that is composed almost entirely of azurite, this is a big azurite despite the small overall size. The white areas add contrast and the specimen is very aesthetic. Discovered in 2012, this is among the top pieces of a beautiful find in the summer of that year.
