Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Chania, Crete, Greece
Class:
Crystal Group/Cluster
Size Range:
Museum (18cm plus)
Size:
18.2 × 12.3 × 8.6 cm
Description

A fine and large cluster of clear and lustrous quartz crystals from the alpine type fissures of Crete. The piece is incredibly hard to photograph, you need to watch the video. The crystals on it have short prism faces which a typical characteristic of alpine type quartz from this location and also unusual for quartz in general. Damage wise, it has a broken crystal and a few minor damages here and there which are too hard to find unless you inspect the piece closely, inch by inch. It ranks among the best pieces from a Crete quartz collection that I acquired in Munich a couple years ago. As with all specimens from this fixed-price page, there is a video of this specimen available so please contact me to send you the link.
