Description

If you had shown me just this one specimen 6 months ago, I would have never believed that it comes from Lavrion, because we had never seen crystals of this size from Greece before. Luckily, this summer a superb find was made, which produced the finest Greek azurite to date. This is a good example with great luster and color for the locality. It is actually a cluster of crystals. The piece was mostly covered with pocket clay when I got it so I can safely say that any areas that look damaged are not; the growth was interrupted so some crystals are not terminated and there is no man-made damage on the piece. Tiny pieces of the almost petrified clay remain on the specimen as proof and there is also some minor malachite present.
