Description

Azurites from Lavrion are usually tiny little crystals barely visible to the naked eye or a few milimeters long at best. However, this summer we had a superb find that produced the best Greek azurites to date. This specimen is a very good example from this find with a 1.5cm, highly lustrous crystals on matrix. If you put more light on the azurite, you can see a fine translucency and a beautiful color, almost linarite-blue. This is not it. As a bonus, dozens of wonderful aggregates of sparkling green crystals of malachite fill the rest of the cavity making for a killer locality combo specimen.
