Crystals on Matrix

Small cabinet (7-10 cm)

7 × 5.6 × 3.5 cm
Description

Fine specimen of pearly, highly lustrous smithsonite. It combines both botryoidal and crystalline smithsonite which is extremelly unusual for Greece! The local collectors named this "silver" smithsonite because the luster and color reminds them of how silver coins reflect the light. I would go for "pearl" smithsonite as the botryoids sometimes look like pearls like on this fine specimen!
